Shibori dye workshop

Join us with the lovely Amanda from Same Sister. Based in East Clandon Amanda is a highly skilled textile dealer and seamstress. Creating a collection of utility garments and accessories, Amanda has a broad knowledge of designing and making textile products.

In this session join Amanda in an Shibori Indigo workshop. Working with indigo dye vats to hand dye antique French linen. Working with varying weights and shades to try from the very rustic early 19th century pieces through to finer mid 20th century linen.

Amanda will introduce a variety of Japanese shibori techniques showing people samples of what they can achieve.  You'll then get stuck in with folding and tying some sample pieces, working up to a linen tea towel and then a large linen square.

The tea tows will go way with you to add to your homes or for a gift, together with all the
samples that you have created (great for mood boards or design ideas).  The cushion square will then be professionally made up by Amanda into an approx 50 cm square cushion cover which will be supplied with a feather pad.  This will be returned to &Hobbs for either collection or delivery approx seven to ten days later (all included in the workshop price).

When: Tuesday 19th Sept 1pm-5pm (allow a little extra time just in case!)

How much: 85.00per person

Includes: four hour (min) workshop. Samples and tea towel both to take home, and Feather pillow to be made by Andrea and sent to you.
